I am deeply honored and humbled to address you as the newly appointed President of the District of Columbia Black Occupational Therapy Caucus. This moment marks a significant milestone in my professional journey, and I am excited to embark on this path with all of you.
As we move forward, I am committed to building on the legacy of our founders and past leaders. My vision for the future is anchored in three key pillars:

-
Advocacy and Representation: We will continue to champion policies that support diversity and inclusion within the occupational therapy profession. It is crucial that our voices are heard at all levels of decision-making to ensure that our communities receive the quality care they deserve.
-
Professional Development and Mentorship: We will enhance our efforts to provide professional development opportunities for our members. This includes workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs designed to equip our members with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their careers.
-
Community Engagement and Outreach: Our commitment to serving the community remains steadfast. We will expand our outreach initiatives to address the unique needs of underserved populations, ensuring that everyone has access to the benefits of occupational therapy.

I am excited to work alongside each of you, to learn from you, and to grow with you as we strive to make a positive impact in our community. Thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility. Together, we will continue to make strides towards a more inclusive, equitable, and impactful future for occupational therapy.
